Excerpt :

Too many oranges in twenty-four
hours have given me cancer
on the shoulder.
it looks like orange peel (candied) but it is
cancer.
orange peels do not look like cancer, however.
I know.
I’ve eaten a lot of them.
Orange flesh, i mean.
Not the skins.

See on Big Screen ONLY

Beloved,
i love you i love you i love you i love you
But you make me so angry
when you laugh
& flip your hair
& leave the room with only the sound
of your fingerpads on the beveled doorknob.

Food! (tdp006)

Siri Buurma
Stephanie Keough-Hedges
Jessalyn Wakefield
Matthew Wheelock
BW Diederich

The first in a series of zines on food; its preparation, its enjoyment, its implications, etc. Featuring the writings of Stephanie Keough-Hedges, Jessalyn Wakefield, Matthew Wheelock and BW Diederich; as well as drawings by Siri Buurma.

Excerpt :
"The older I get, the more nostalgic I am for food, and I don't exclusively mean the food of my childhood. The more I move around the country, the more I miss specific foods, restaurants, groceries of the places I leave behind. When I lived in upstate New York, I bought chicken from a poultry farm, freshly harvested Concord grapes, the absolute best apples, some of the best domestic wine (Bully Hill & Johnson Estate), and there was always abandoned zucchini at the free book box. I took a vegetarian cooking class at the Quaker grange hall where I learned to make a minestra and use texturized-vegetable protein. There was also the wonderful pancake house that was open only in March each year for maple syrup season. I think often of the grocery chains in Wisconsin that have huge aisles devoted to nothing but frozen pizza and cheap beer. I've yet to find a better selection of mustards or dill pickles or diet sodas than the Sheboygan Piggly Wigglys."

Like the Quick Rewind of a Film (tdp002)

Various Authors

A collection of reactions and thoughts to and about death.

Excerpt:
April 28, 2004

Is it a universal reaction to death to sort of… forget about it? Not that i've forgotten, that's a bad choice of words. But it doesn't seem real to me. It seems like something imagined, but not even that real; not reality in the way that make-believe can be reality. I keep saying to myself "my grandmother is dead," and the self keeps saying "well. ok."
